Job summary

Flow Control Group is seeking a Metal Fabricator / Assembler to produce aluminum structures per CAD specifications. This hands-on role requires reading CAD drawings, operating shop equipment, and assembling parts with precision in a production setting.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fabrication/assembly, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Forklift certification is a plus and safety is a priority.

Job Description

The Metal Fabricator / Assembler is responsible for fabricating and assembling aluminum structures and components per design specifications. This hands-on role includes reading CAD drawings, operating shop tools and equipment, and assembling finished parts with precision and efficiency. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a production environment. This role is essential in supporting the quality and consistency of our manufactured solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Metal Fabrication & Assembly

• Cut aluminum stock to length using large saws and precision cutting tools.
• Precision fully automatic saw system
• Jet Drill/mill for precision drilling
• Drill, tap, and deburr materials as needed.
• Hand taping with pneumatic drilling
• Assemble components to match CAD design specifications using appropriate tools and fasteners.
• Ensure final assembly quality aligns with customer and engineering requirements.

Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation

• Read and interpret CAD drawings and technical blueprints accurately.
• Identify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications from prints.

Tool & Equipment Operation

• Operate hand tools, drill press, chop saw, and other shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Communicate with engineers and project managers to clarify designs and resolve discrepancies.
• Recommend improvements in fabrication techniques or tooling for efficiency.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2+ years of experience in a fabrication, assembly, or machining environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience operating saws, drill presses, and hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Familiarity with CAD software is a plus but not required.
• Forklift certification
