Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
• Ability to follow written instructions and work safely around shop equipment.
• Able to lift 25 pounds or more daily and over 40 pounds occasionally.
• Able to stand for extended periods and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Deburr, grind, and finish parts to print and shop quality standards
• Tap holes and countersink per drawing callouts
• Install PEM and other self-clinching hardware
• Perform spot welding and stud welding
• Perform light machining operations as needed
• Support other areas of the shop, including laser cutting, press brake forming, and quality control, with training provided as needed
• Read and follow customer drawings, travelers, and work instructions
• Perform in-process checks to verify parts meet print requirements
• Communicate with engineering and other departments to resolve issues
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow shop procedures and safety requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve processes in your work area and throughout the shop

Position Summary

We are seeking a Metal Fabrication Technician to perform secondary operations and support multiple work centers across the shop. This role focuses on finishing, hardware, and joining operations that take parts from cut blanks to finished components built to print. It's a hands-on, versatile position for someone who takes pride in detail work and wants to build skills across a range of fabrication processes. As you grow, you'll be cross-trained in other areas of the shop.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Deburr, grind, and finish parts to print and shop quality standards
• Tap holes and countersink per drawing callouts
• Install PEM and other self-clinching hardware
• Perform spot welding and stud welding
• Perform light machining operations as needed
• Support other areas of the shop, including laser cutting, press brake forming, and quality control, with training provided as needed
• Read and follow customer drawings, travelers, and work instructions
• Perform in-process checks to verify parts meet print requirements
• Communicate with engineering and other departments to resolve issues
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow shop procedures and safety requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve processes in your work area and throughout the shop

• Experience in a job shop or high-mix, low-volume environment
• Ability to manage multiple jobs and prioritize tasks
