Role Overview

The Saw Operator is responsible for identifying, collecting, and issuing materials as per blueprints, and accurately recording hours worked. Knowledge of industrial saws, rolling, finishing, and lifting machinery is essential. The role requires reading measuring tapes and blueprints, maintaining quality, troubleshooting, and potentially progressing into CNC router operation.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints and diagrams independently.
  • Determine material and tooling needs.
  • Set up and operate industrial saws.
  • Use precision tools for accurate cuts.
  • Manufacture parts within specified tolerances.
  • Manage logistics for inbound and outbound materials.
  • Adjust machinery for optimal production quality.
  • Track work using ERP systems.
  • Perform quality checks and report issues.
  • Deliver finished parts to designated areas.
  • Monitor and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Support manufacturing processes and learn CNC routing, crane, bending, and rolling skills.
  • Improve methods and solve problems proactively.
  • Communicate effectively with management.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Accurately record labor hours and materials.
  • Follow safety policies and participate in training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; manufacturing saw experience preferred, or willing to train.
  • Willingness to learn crane, bending, rolling, and CNC skills.
  • Proficiency in math and reading blueprints.
  • Experience with measuring instruments like tape measures and calipers.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience with MS Office; knowledge of Epicor, Slack, or Box is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Flexibility with work schedules.
Work Conditions
  • Moderate exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and noise.
  • Potential exposure to hazards requiring safety precautions.
