What You’ll Do

As the Blaster, you will design, layout, prepare, and detonate blasts with correct products, measured quantities, safe application, and effective use of explosives to meet customer and business requirements. Lead the blast crew and provide on-the-job training to Blasters in Training. Other duties include:

  1. Lead the blast crew, overseeing safety, layout, preparation, and detonation according to business and customer requirements.
  2. Operate and direct work in compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  3. Utilize DN products, applications, competitor’s products, blasting practices, and mining/quarry principles.
  4. Understand and improve service requirements to enhance customer profitability.
  5. Participate in local Incident Review Boards.
  6. Manage and complete electronic blasting reports, inventory records, and documentation.
  7. Use the LAZER system for accurate inventory management.
  8. Design blast patterns to deliver accurate and efficient outcomes based on requirements.
  9. Investigate product complaints and poor-performing blasts; escalate support as needed; report findings and share results for continuous improvement.
  10. Promote Zero Harm by adhering to safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  11. Support regional development of expertise in Value-In-Use products and blasting technology.
  12. Assist in increasing market position and revenue through customer relationships and sales support.
  13. Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers to meet objectives and add value.
  14. Respond professionally and promptly to business needs and problems.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the explosives industry or related roles.
  • At least 1 year of progressively responsible technical or professional experience.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to pass an ATF background check for explosives possession.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and friendly demeanor.
