Job summary

MICA Steelworks is seeking a Fabrication Machine Operator to transport structural steel sections using an overhead crane in the production area and support routine fabrication tasks. The role requires reading blueprints, operating various machines, and maintaining quality with precision measurements.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts, following production orders, and performing deburring and cleaning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1–3 years fabrication machine operator experience or related field.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, tolerances, and work orders; basic math including fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Inspect own parts and those of others using tape measures, calipers, and related measuring tools.
• Read and complete production orders, QA and manufacturing documentation as required.
• Perform secondary operations (cleaning, deburring) and manage material handling with hoists/forklifts.
• Record machinery operation variances and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Follow safety regulations and wear PPE; ensure area is clean and orderly.
• Overtime when requested.
