Job summary

Baker Metal Works INC / Dixie Building Supply INC is seeking a Machine Operator to safely operate powered industrial equipment and to set up machinery for metal or lumber processing. The role includes loading/unloading, inventory scanning, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of experience on high-capacity forklifts, be able to read blueprints and measure with tape and calipers, and be prepared for a loud, hot factory setting.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required on-site.
• 1–2 years of experience operating heavy, high-capacity forklifts in a manufacturing or lumber environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and work orders; use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers).
• Ability to stand for long periods in a loud factory with high temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty forklifts (18,000lb+ capacity) to move structural steel, scrap metal, or timber.
• Set up, adjust, and operate metal roll former machinery and trim machines to cut and shape materials.
