Job summary

Baker Metal Works, Inc. is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to safely operate forklifts and machinery, moving metal and lumber to production and staging areas. You will set up equipment, read blueprints, and verify dimensions using calipers and tape measures in a loud, high-temperature factory environment.

Excellent attention to safety and quality, plus the ability to work 50 hours per week, is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Forklift Operator Certification required on-site.
• 1–2 years of forklift operation in manufacturing or lumber setting preferred.
• Able to lift 50–100 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Read blueprints and work orders; use measuring tools accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move structural steel, scrap metal, and timber.
• Set up and run metal roll formers and trim machines to spec.
• Transport materials to workstations and stage finished parts.
• Maintain safety practices and PPE; record production data as required.
• Inspect parts and assist with quality control and housekeeping.
