Job Description

Responsible for field measuring and creating CAD drawings based on metal fabricating and assembly.

Position Details

• Position: Metal Fab CAD Operator
• FLSA Status: Hourly, Non Exempt
• Reports to: Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment for safety and productivity.
• Follow safety procedures and report incidents.
• Perform field measurements using appropriate devices and document specifications accurately.
• Travel within 100 miles to customer sites for measurement and documentation, including taking photos.
• Proficiently use AutoDesk CAD software for detailing fabrication projects, including plasma cutting with accurate dimensions.
• Verify measurement accuracy and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies

• Effective communication with customers and team members.
• Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to design CAD drawings for metal fabrication.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and work in shop or field environments.
• Ability to perform fabrication and welding functions as needed.
• Technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read drawings, plans, blueprints, and communicate effectively.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to obtain a Medical Card.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting heavy objects (up to 100 pounds), standing, walking, and strenuous physical activity requiring stamina and manual dexterity.

Work Schedule & Travel

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6 am to 4 pm, with potential evening and weekend work. Travel is primarily local, with some out-of-area and overnight trips possible.
