Job Description

Responsible for field measuring and creating CAD drawings based on metal fabricating and assembly.

Job Details

• Position: Metal Fab CAD Operator
• FLSA Status: Hourly, Non Exempt
• Reports to: Project Manager
• Work Environment: Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical parts, inclement weather, and loud noise levels.
• Physical Demands: Lifting up to 50-100 pounds, standing, walking, strenuous physical labor, manual dexterity required.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6 am to 4 pm, with possible evening, weekend, and travel requirements.

Essential Functions

• Maintain a clean and organized work area for safety and efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols and report incidents.
• Perform field measurements and document project specifications.
• Travel within 100 miles for site measurements and documentation.
• Take photos to understand project scope.
• Proficiently use AutoDesk CAD software for detailing fabrication projects.
• Ensure measurement accuracy and assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
• Strong communication skills and decision-making abilities.
• Technical and mechanical capacity, including welding and fabrication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to hold a Medical Card.
• Ability to learn new tasks and work both in shop and field environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and pride in workmanship.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 6 am to 4 pm, with potential for out-of-area travel and overtime as needed.
