Job summary

Canyon Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Estimator / Project Manager for our Custom Metals Division in Mount Airy, MD. This role blends estimating and project management to prepare accurate, competitive take-offs for miscellaneous metals and structural steel elements.

The incumbent will manage awarded projects from bid to completion, serving as the main contact for customers, vendors, subcontractors, and Canyon teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in metal fabrication estimating or project management.
• Experience with miscellaneous metals and structural steel projects preferred.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings, blueprints and welding symbols.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents and prepare detailed cost estimates and material take-offs.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and vendors for quotes and bid packages.
• Manage awarded projects from handoff through completion, including submittals and change orders.
• Coordinate fabrication drawings with estimators, detailers, shop personnel and field operations.
• Build and maintain client relationships and ensure on-time project delivery.
