Canyon Contracting, Inc. in Mount Airy, MD, is seeking an experienced Metal Fabrication Estimator / Project Manager for its Custom Metals Division. The role combines estimating and project management, handling bids through completion on miscellaneous metals and structural steel projects.

You will lead communication with customers, vendors, and field teams, prepare bid packages, and transition awarded work into successful project delivery, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of experience in metal fabrication estimating or project management.
• Experience with miscellaneous metals and structural steel projects preferred.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and construction specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Review bid documents, architectural/structural drawings, and other project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare material take-offs, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and assemble bid packages.
• Lead pre-bid/post-bid reviews and communicate scope and schedules with general contractors.
• Transition awarded projects into project management, including budgets and kickoff meetings.
• Manage projects from handoff through completion with internal and external stakeholders.
• Track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate fabrication drawings with estimators, shop personnel, and field teams.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, milestones, and safety adherence.
• Support billing, punch lists, and project closeout activities.
