Scout Motors is seeking a procurement leader to drive supplier selection and cost-efficient purchasing for metals and related parts. You will shape sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and partner with Quality, Engineering, and Logistics to ensure on-time, cost-effective mass production.

The role emphasizes program management, in-depth automotive procurement experience, and collaboration across multiple teams to meet ambitious production targets.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in purchasing environment with experience developing and executing procurement commodity strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant automotive procurement experience will be considered.
• Effective negotiation experience specific to automotive OEM or Tier 1 Direct Purchasing
• Metal commodity knowledge in Ladder Frame, Body-In-White Stampings, Welded Sub-Assys, Exhaust, Brakes, Suspension, EDUs, Steering, Castings, Forgings, Stabilizers, Wishbones, Wheels, Hinges, Steel Coils, Aluminum Coils, Fasteners and Accessories

Responsibilities

• Work hand-in-hand with Scout team to identify the right suppliers to build and supply parts & services, including participating in pre-sourcing audits to confirm acceptability of new suppliers.
• Lead the sourcing strategy presentation in the multi-level sourcing committee environment.
• Develop sourcing strategy within the Metals team for assigned commodities and lead the sourcing process through supplier selection to achieve company piece price and tooling targets.
• Prepare and execute negotiated contractual documents and nomination agreements.
• Act as program manager during the pre-production phase, ensuring that all industrialization at suppliers achieve the project requirements in terms of timing, cost, and quality.
• Evaluate and apply technical changes to parts / services, ensuring that cost, quality and delivery objectives are met.
• Lead cross-functional evaluation of suppliers’ preparedness for mass-production, together with Scout Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics.
