Job summary

ebm-papst is seeking a Metals Commodity Manager to lead global sourcing for metals and metal-based components. You will drive strategic supplier selection, negotiate contracts, and manage risk while aligning with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to support cost and supply objectives.

The role emphasizes should-cost analyses, market monitoring, and supplier development across steel, aluminum, copper, and related products. A senior candidate with 7–10+ years’ experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 7–10+ years of sourcing/procurement/commodity management experience.
• Significant metals commodities experience (steel, stainless, aluminum, copper, etc.).
• Global sourcing and supplier negotiations experience.
• Strong knowledge of metal markets, indices, tariffs, and trade compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global and regional sourcing strategies for metals and metal-based components.
• Analyze market trends, indices, tariffs, and supply-demand dynamics affecting metals.
• Create long-term sourcing plans to ensure competitive pricing and supply security.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate spend and leverage purchasing volumes.
• Evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers; negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and service agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance with KPIs on Quality, Cost, Delivery, Innovation, Sustainability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance to align procurement with business goals.
