Job summary

McElroy Metal is seeking a Service Center Manager for its Alexandria, LA location. You will oversee sales, production, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and safety, reporting to the Service Center Area Manager.

This role requires supervision of office and production staff and strong customer service skills. You will arrange deliveries, write orders, and manage everyday financial tasks like invoicing and cash deposits, while driving local sales growth and maintaining accurate stock levels.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising office and production staff.
• Sales/customer service in metal components/roofing products desired.
• Willingness to travel and work independently.
• Experience with inventory control, invoicing records, cash deposits, and material estimates.
• Ability to handle materials and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Directs sales, production, shipping and receiving, and inventory control at the Service Center.
• Supervises, trains, and hires Service Center staff.
• Solicits customers to increase Service Center sales and assists customers in selecting products.
• Writes orders and arranges for delivery; invoices orders after shipment.
• Keeps inventory records current and replenishes stock; deposits cash receipts.

Summary

An opening currently exists for a Service Center Manager at our Service Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This position directs sales, production, shipping and receiving, inventory control, safety and all administrative functions at the Service Center and reports to the Service Center Area Manager.

Hours

Service Center Manager Qualifications:

• Experience and ability to supervise office and production employees.
• Sales/customer service experience in metal components and/or roofing products.
• Ability to travel and work independently.
• Experience working with administrative functions such as: inventory control, invoicing records, computer transactions, cash deposits, and material estimates.
• Ability to handle materials and material handling equipment.
• Schedules, supervises, trains, and hires Service Center staff.
• Solicits current and potential customers to increase Service Center’s sales.
• Assists customers in selection of products and writes orders for additional items needed. Arranges for delivery to customer.
• Invoices orders after shipment.
• Keeps inventory control records current and places orders to replenish stock.
• Completes daily sales summary and deposits cash receipts in bank.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Assists in creating and estimating material lists for customers.
