Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Metadata, Data Lineage & Controls Engineer to design, implement, and maintain metadata management frameworks and lineage solutions across the GCP data platform.

You will collaborate with Data Governance, Regulatory Reporting, Data Architects and Engineers to build a controlled, compliant data ecosystem; experience in data governance, data quality, controls, and cloud data platforms is essential and you will support audits and regulatory requests.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Document lineage from source systems through transformations to FR Y-14M reports.
  • Establish automated lineage capture capabilities.
  • Create lineage visualization and impact analysis capabilities.
  • Support regulatory examinations and audit requests through lineage documentation.
  • Maintain complete traceability of regulatory reporting data elements.

The Metadata, Data Lineage & Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining metadata management frameworks, lineage solutions, data quality controls, reconciliation processes, and regulatory reporting controls across the GCP data platform.

The role requires strong expertise in data governance, cloud data platforms, metadata tools, lineage frameworks, and enterprise control management.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Data Governance teams, Regulatory Reporting teams, Data Architects, Data Modelers, Data Engineers, Risk Managers, and Business Analysts to establish a controlled and compliant data ecosystem.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $105k - $115k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

  • Metadata & Governance - Enterprise Metadata Management, Business Glossary Management, Data Catalog Implementation, Data Stewardship, Data Classification, Critical Data Elements (CDE), Governance Frameworks
  • Controls & Data Quality - Data Controls Frameworks, Data Reconciliation, Data Certification, Data Quality Monitoring, Control Testing, Exception Management, Root Cause Analysis
Preferred, but not required:
  • Experience implementing cloud governance and metadata management programs.
  • Understanding of internal controls, audit, compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled metadata discovery and lineage solutions.
