Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a MET RN Specialist to lead proactive patient care, participate in rapid response activations, and support the MET/RRT team to improve patient outcomes.

Shifts are nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., including weekend and holiday rotation requirements. The role emphasizes education, data review, and collaboration with the CRRC and primary nurses during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA/Red Cross.
• PALS either on hire or within 1 year for pediatric roles.
• NIHSS certification.
• Two years of nursing in a complex critical care environment.
• MET RN Simulator/Orientation experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate processes for proactive critical patient care.
• Respond to rapid response and code blue calls; provide critical care nursing until stable.
• Activate MET/RRT as needed and coordinate with primary teams.
• Provide coaching and education for nursing staff during emergencies.
• Round on inpatient units; prioritize high-risk patients and actions.
• Review cases and data for quality improvement with CRRC.
