Job summary

The Summit Foundation in Washington, DC seeks a Mesoamerican Reef Program Associate to support the MAR Program Director with grantmaking activities and program administration. This full-time role focuses on maintaining grant pipelines, preparing materials, and coordinating reporting timelines.

The position requires a Master’s degree and at least two years of related experience, fluent Spanish, strong organizational and communication skills, and a collaborative, donor-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant work experience, or equivalent training and experience.
• Fluent Spanish is a plus; strong Spanish language ability required; native Spanish speaker preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Track record of working with people from diverse cultures and perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Support the MAR Program Director and assist with grantmaking processes and related materials.
• Maintain the MAR grants calendar and pipeline and track the grantmaking budget.
• Prepare grant materials for internal review and ensure timely completion of grant contracts and reporting templates.
• Review grantee reports and assess progress of grantees and projects.
• Contribute to refining program strategy by identifying assumptions, gaps, and opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to increase leverage or impact, including potential funding partnerships and external engagements.
