Job summary

Fortune Brands is seeking a software/MES engineer to support and drive MES projects across Fiberon facilities, translating requirements into MES solutions.

You will collaborate with engineers, managers, supervisors, and operators to implement Ignition-based front end applications, define specifications, and validate through testing and deployment. This role emphasizes standardization, improvements, and clear communication with leadership.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software development experience.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Technical understanding of programming and application development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated project management skills and stakeholder communication.
• Knowledge of Windows-based systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support MES-related issues and coordinate with team members.
• Use Ignition to design and develop front-end MES applications.
• Define, design, and lead software implementations for manufacturing operations.
• Align shop floor processes and MES requirements across sites.
• Translate business needs into functional MES specifications.
• Serve as MES SME for production execution, data collection, quality, and traceability.
• Participate in system testing (unit, integration, UAT) and production validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployment, training, and adoption.
• Identify opportunities for standardization and performance improvements via MES.
