Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations seeks an MES Engineer to support and drive MES projects at Fiberon facilities. You will collaborate with engineers, managers, supervisors, and operators to develop MES applications and hardware for a continuous improvement culture.

The role requires translating business needs into MES specifications, performing testing and deployment, and coordinating across sites to standardize processes and improve manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software development experience.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Technical understanding of programming and application development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrated project management skills and adherence to timelines.
• Knowledge of Windows-based systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day MES issues with the team.
• Utilize Ignition for front-end design and development for MES.
• Define, design and lead software implementations across manufacturing operations.
• Support alignment of MES requirements across sites and business units.
• Translate business needs into detailed MES specifications.
• Serve as SME for MES functionality including production execution, routing and data collection.
• Support testing activities: unit, integration and UAT.
• Partner with cross-functional teams for site deployment and training.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization and automation with MES.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide project updates, risks and recommendations to leadership.
• Analyze existing software code to improve MES systems.
