Job summary

Travelers in Hartford, CT is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Technology team. You will perform end-to-end engineering tasks for system assignments, developing, testing, debugging, health monitoring, and deployment based on user and design specifications.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of programming experience, 2 years in Agile, and MERN or similar stack experience, with JavaScript and REST APIs. Cloud familiarity (AWS), CI/CD, and Git are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.
• 2 additional years of software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions as well as define technical requirements for assignments of intermediate complexity.
• Participate with team to perform analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and escalating appropriately.
• Work within guidelines set by team to independently tackle well-scoped problems.
• Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
