Job summary

Sunbit, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Director of Analytics to lead Merchant Ecosystem analytics in Los Angeles. You will manage senior analysts and partner with Merchant and company leadership to deliver trusted data insights.

You will drive a governance-driven self-serve analytics culture, own the certified metric layer, and enable business teams with AI-assisted, conversational analytics while improving BNPL funnel and merchant lifecycle insights.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in analytics or data science, with team management experience.
• Expert SQL and Python or R; able to do hands-on analysis.
• Proven self-service analytics with certified metrics and semantic layer.
• Experience deploying LLM- or agent-based analytics in business use cases.
• Strong funnel/conversion analytics in high-volume environments.
• Track record of influencing senior leaders and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics self-serve: move to governed self-service with adoption targets.
• Own the semantic metric layer; certify metrics and approve changes.
• Implement analytic agents with Data Eng, Product, and AI/ML, enabling conversational analytics.
• Govern AI-assisted analysis: set accuracy checks and escalation paths.
• Own BNPL application funnel Viz: track journey, decisions, funding and performance.
• Measure merchant lifecycle: acquisition, activation, retention across verticals.
• Lead experimentation: define KPI definitions, run A/B tests and elasticity studies.
• Lead the team and advise executives; perform hands-on analysis ~30–40% of time.
