Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join our Fort Dodge, IA team.

You will work alongside the Store Manager to lead a dynamic group of associates, focusing on merchandising and freight processing to drive sales and store standards. You’ll assist with daily store functions, security of assets, and adherence to policies while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform physical activities as listed.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards (stockroom and sales floor).
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise and manage freight flow.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective and merchandise plans are followed.
