Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join our team in Grimes, IA. You will support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic group of associates, focus on merchandising, and oversee freight processing to keep shelves stocked.

This role requires strong communication and teamwork, the ability to lift 30–50 lbs, and a commitment to safe, friendly customer service. You’ll handle opening/closing, stockroom upkeep, and adherence to company policies daily.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and undertake frequent walking, standing, and movement.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow and stock merchandise to productivity standards.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain clips strips and power panels with sale items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety across the store.
