Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Portsmouth, VA to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates.

You will focus on merchandising, processing freight, and maintaining store standards to deliver a positive customer experience. Responsibilities include assisting with daily store operations, opening/closing procedures, asset protection, and executing directives to support sales and productivity.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Strong communication and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform related physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock as needed.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Assist with receiving and returning merchandise and managing freight flow.
• Plan and maintain promotional displays and monthly Sales Planners.
