Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Sterling, VA to help the Store Manager lead a dynamic team and create positive experiences for communities we serve.

You will focus on merchandising and processing freight, assisting with all store functions, and maintaining a well-presented sales floor. Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, protecting assets, complying with safety guidelines, coordinating freight, stocking merchandise, and supporting monthly

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms.
• Provide positive, safe, and respectful interactions with customers and staff.
• Assist with receipt/return of merchandise and manage freight flow.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective and implement monthly Sales Planners.
