Job summary

Guitar Center Inc. is seeking a Merchandising Operations Analyst to own analytical and planning work across vendor funding, compliance, and inventory operations.

You will partner with Merchandising, Planning, Finance, and Technology to translate complex data into scalable reporting and process improvements. The role emphasizes governance of vendor terms, Open-to-Buy and forecasting support, and cross-functional problem-solving to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Analytics, Merchandising, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Merchandising, Planning, Inventory, Vendor Operations, or analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills with complex formulas, pivots, data modeling; SQL/Access preferred.
• Experience with BI/reporting platforms and translating requirements into scalable reports.
• Strong financial acumen; ability to reconcile data and communicate recommendations clearly.
• Experience supporting enterprise systems, UAT, or system implementations preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own analytical and operational support for vendor funding programs and budgets.
• Coordinate accruals, invoicing, and month-end support with cross-functional teams.
• Support Joint Business Planning through reporting and progress tracking.
• Govern vendor terms and funding systems and provide governance reporting.
• Develop reporting that improves transparency into vendor contribution and performance.
• Lead governance for vendor compliance programs like scorecards and on-time performance.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and advise partners.
• Translate requirements into reporting, automation, and future-state workflows.
