Merchandising Manager, Maternity Leave Coverage

Reports to: Director of Merchandising

Location: Sherman Oaks, CA. This is an onsite role, five days per week, working closely with our team at our Sherman Oaks office.

Position Type: Temporary, with potential for longer-term opportunity

About the Role

Adina Reyter is looking for an experienced, strategic, analytical, and visually minded Merchandising Manager to join our team on a temporary basis to provide coverage during an upcoming maternity leave. This role will play an important part in maintaining continuity across the merchandising function, supporting seasonal strategy, product performance, inventory, launches, and visual presentation while partnering closely with teams across the business.

We are looking for someone who can step in quickly, take ownership, and bring both strong business acumen and a thoughtful point of view on product. While this position is initially intended as temporary maternity leave coverage, there may be an opportunity for the role to continue longer term based on business needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Seasonal Merchandising & Assortment

• Support the development and execution of seasonal assortment and merchandising strategies across collections and categories.
• Analyze sales, customer, and market insights to make recommendations around assortment, pricing, and product depth.
• Identify growth opportunities and help evolve the assortment based on business performance and market trends.
• Oversee weekly and seasonal sales, sell-through, inventory, and availability reporting.
• Evaluate performance by collection, category, and merchandising group, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Establish merchandising priorities around bestsellers, slow movers, hero SKUs, and inventory productivity.
• Partner with Planning and Production on replenishment and inventory strategies that support key business priorities.

Launch & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Oversee merchandising readiness and execution for new product launches, seasonal drops, gifting moments, and key campaigns.
• Partner with Marketing, E-commerce, Wholesale, Retail, Planning, and Production to ensure alignment on merchandising priorities and timelines.
• Maintain visibility into the merchandising calendar and proactively identify and resolve potential execution gaps.
• Help provide day-to-day direction and prioritization across merchandising initiatives during the leave period.

Visual Merchandising & Brand Presentation

• Oversee the visual presentation and merchandising of the company showroom and internal product environments.
• Develop and maintain visual merchandising guidelines and presentations that communicate brand and merchandising direction.
• Ensure product presentations, decks, and merchandising tools are polished, cohesive, and aligned with the brand.

Market Insights & Merchandising Operations

• Lead competitive and market research across assortment, pricing, trends, and emerging opportunities.
• Translate market and business insights into actionable merchandising recommendations.
• Establish strong processes and reporting cadences to improve visibility, accountability, and cross-functional execution.
• Help ensure continuity and strong execution across the merchandising function throughout the maternity leave period.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, planning, or a related role, preferably within fashion, accessories, luxury, or consumer goods.
• Jewelry experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
• Strong understanding of assortment planning, inventory, pricing, and product performance.
• Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills and proficiency in Google Slides or PowerPoint.
• Strong visual eye with the ability to create polished and compelling presentations.
• Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Proactive and solutions-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience managing or mentoring team members is preferred.
• Experience with Shopify, NetSuite, or other ERP/e-commerce systems is a plus.
