Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Kingsport, TN. You will support the Store Manager, lead a team of associates, and focus on merchandising, freight processing, and daily store operations.

The role requires prior retail and management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You will ensure safety, cleanliness, and a positive environment for customers and staff, with duties including opening/closing, asset protection, and enforcing

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and any related communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Assist Store Manager with duties: process receipt/return of DSD merchandise, manage freight flow, stock merchandise needs, and plan monthly Sales Planners.
