Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Kingsport, TN. The role involves supervising associates, organizing merchandise, processing directives, and maintaining store presentation and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in retail management or a related environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers with questions or concerns in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping including payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas clean and presentable, including stockroom organization and restocking bathrooms.
• Assist Store Manager with supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
