Dollar Tree Stores in Vernon, TX is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join our Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering positive community experiences through merchandising and freight processing.

You will assist with daily store functions, open/close procedures, asset protection, and policy adherence while maintaining clean and presentable spaces. This role emphasizes customer and associate interactions and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and handle physical tasks as part of the job.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms and floors
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
• Process receipt and return of merchandise
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards
• Order and stock merchandise needs including frozen & refrigerated items
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan and merchandise Clip Strips and Power Panels
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
