Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering positive community experiences through effective merchandising and freight processing.

You will assist with daily store operations, maintain stockroom and sales floor, protect assets, and uphold safety standards while delivering friendly, professional service to customers and associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent store tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and restrooms.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow per productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan and merchandise monthly Sales Planners.
