Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. in Pikeville seeks a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering value to customers. You’ll focus on merchandising and processing freight while upholding store standards and policies.

You will assist with store functions, safety compliance, and daily operations, including opening/closing duties and asset protection. The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and physical capability to lift 30–50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process all corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and any additional communications related to store activities.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise; manage freight flow.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated, per productivity standards.
