Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join our Kansas City, KS team. You’ll help lead a dynamic group of associates and focus on merchandising and freight processing to drive store performance.

In this role you’ll assist with all store functions, perform opening and closing procedures, protect assets, stock the floor and stockroom, and plan monthly Sales Planners while maintaining a safe, upbeat environment. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform frequent movement and lifting.
• High-energy, team-oriented environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Ensure positive, safe, and respectful interactions with customers and staff.
• Assist Store Manager with additional duties.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
