Job summary

Skechers, the Comfort Technology Company®, seeks an International Merchandising professional to oversee product assortments and line sheets for subsidiary markets. You will manage samples, respond to sales trends, and present lines to internal and external teams with confidence.

A global mindset and strong Excel skills are essential. 6+ years in merchandising, a bachelor’s degree, and travel readiness are required.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Obtain an extensive knowledge of the Skechers product lines you will represent for Subsidiary countries. Support company objectives to enable continued growth and profitability in the International division. Use in depth analysis and product knowledge to propose new ideas and opportunities for business growth. Have a strong understanding of different market’s needs in order to successfully build assortments that will drive sales in that specific country. Effectively communicate all directives on products to Subsidiaries via emails, virtual/phone calls and in person.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Understanding Product: Become a product expert. Manage and communicate product assortments and line sheets, order samples for subsidiary showrooms and sales staff, determine when and how to react to best and worst sellers. Consistently monitor the Subsidiaries to identify missed opportunities on key styles and make recommendations with the intent to increase sales. Present your product line with confidence and must be able to react to challenging questions during presentations.

Daily and weekly duties:

Own your product lines and brand initiatives. Build and maintain assortments relevant for each Subsidiary market. Help International partners to understand product availability, sales samples, sales trends, key initiatives, marketing strategies and overall product direction. Maintain line sheets/new adds/drops/reductions for each Subsidiary line. Attend Monthly/Quarterly conference calls with Subsidiary partners to discuss current state of business and needs. Review overall sales and understand what categories the Subsidiaries are achieving growth or losing sales.

Responsible for answering questions daily and communicating all product/business related information to each Subsidiary on a regular and timely basis, it is essential as the time differences in regions can cause delays.

International product conferences:

Work with Subsidiary teams to understand their business focusing on key assortments and products they have on order. Make educated recommendations. Present product lines to internal sales teams. Present product lines to customers when applicable Review and Analyze selling/bookings/shipments by country for your product lines. Report on business trends by category. Understand what categories are achieving growth or loss in sales to identify opportunity. Continually review product assortments to be sure that all key initiatives are represented and make educated recommendations for styles that can work within a country’s market. Collaborate with other international merchandising/planning partners to maximize sales, partner on product opportunities, and manage projects. Aggressive sales approach is needed. Ability to be influential in person, video calls and emails is essential. Maintain/Run/Review various reports to provide appropriate analysis. WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Merchandising/Buying experience in footwear/apparel/accessories
• Extensive product knowledge of a large volume of skus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables and v-lookups)
• Must be comfortable with presentations. Present your line at sales meetings and conferences with confidence and be able to react to questions with confidence.
