Our team is currently looking for a Full-Time Merchandiser to maintain our level of commitment to safety and customer service. The Merchandiser’s main job function is to assist with sales and create brand awareness. A sales merchandiser should have knowledge of our products as they relate to the deli.

The duties of a Dietz & Watson Merchandiser include, but are not limited to:

• Safely operate a deli slicer
• Set up deli cases and appropriately rotate deli product
• Understand and execute schematics/planograms
• Maintain marketing displays using Dietz & Watson Point of Sale (POS)
• Be a self-starter, work in a team environment, and/or with little or no supervision
• Manage time effectively and productively
• Complete all reports as necessary, including store surveys
• Provide coverage to all stores within the assigned territory based on store ranking
• Visit stores regularly, document concerns/problems (shortages, equipment issues, etc.), and address them promptly
• Build and maintain customer relationships through high-level customer service techniques
• Create and market Dietz & Watson programs
• Train new store deli hires on Dietz & Watson products and refresh training as needed
• Communicate relevant information to Merchandiser Manager (e.g., grand openings, store closings)
• Use monthly sales reports to achieve 100% distribution
• Explore sales growth opportunities with Merchandiser Manager
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
• Perform special projects outside the assigned territory
• Travel as needed, including flying, up to 30% of the time
• Read and write English proficiently
• Possess computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrate communication, organization, creativity, and customization skills
• Exercise independent decision-making regularly
• Work weekends occasionally
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years of customer service/sales experience preferred; deli experience is a plus
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required
• Must have a Real ID or Passport for travel
• Pass the company-issued ServSafe Manager exam

• Room temperature while in stores

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 20 pounds frequently
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Push/pull carts containing product, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Walking, reaching, using both hands and arms
• Operate a motor vehicle
• Work in refrigerated cooler areas as needed
