Job summary

Bell Nursery in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Merchandiser to stock live goods, set up displays and assist customers. This full-time, outdoors role involves lifting up to 50 lb, moving shipments, and using plan-o-grams.

You’ll work with store leadership, wear company apparel, and contribute to sustainable, attractive merchandise layouts while maintaining inventory and watering standards.

Responsibilities

• Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments up to 50 lb.
• Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams) and promotional ads.
• Maintain accurate inventory and ensure live goods are well cared for (watering/sustainability).
• Communicate daily with store leadership on execution and status.
• Provide basic customer service when needed.

What you’ll do (Merchandiser responsibilities)

• Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments — manually or with help — including lifting and carrying up to 50 lb, and pushing/pulling carts up to ~100 lb
• Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams), including setting promotional ads
• Maintain accurate inventory, monitor watering/sustainability standards, and ensure live goods are well cared for
• Communicate daily with store and Bell Nursery leadership on execution and store status
• Provide basic customer service when needed

What we’re looking for (Candidate attributes)

• Enjoy working outdoors, being active, and doing physical work
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, sometimes variable environment
• Reliable, alert, safety-conscious, with good problem-solving skills
• Able to work weekends (strongly preferred), and access to dependent transport access? private or public
• Comfortable using a smartphone to manage payroll/inventory apps, and communicating via text, email, or phone
