Job summary

Bell Nursery in Greensboro, NC is hiring a seasonal Merchandiser to unload, stock and display live plants, coordinating with store leadership to ensure shelves are visually appealing and well stocked. You will lift up to 50 lb and push carts up to 100 lb while maintaining plant health and inventory accuracy.

Ideal candidates enjoy outdoor work, can work weekends, and are reliable team players with basic smartphone/app literacy for payroll and inventory apps.

Qualifications

• Must be able to unload and stock live goods, lift up to 50 lb, push/pull carts up to 100 lb.
• Able to work outdoors for long periods in variable weather.
• Reliable, safety‑minded, and capable of working independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments; handle at most 50 lb lifting and 100 lb cart pushes.
• Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams) to create attractive layouts.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and monitor watering/sustainability standards.
• Communicate daily with store leadership on execution and status.
• Provide basic customer service when needed.

What you’ll do (Merchandiser responsibilities)

• Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments — manually or with help — including lifting and carrying up to 50 lb, and pushing/pulling carts up to ~100 lb
• Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams), including setting promotional ads
• Maintain accurate inventory, monitor watering/sustainability standards, and ensure live goods are well cared for
• Communicate daily with store and Bell Nursery leadership on execution and store status
• Provide basic customer service when needed

• Enjoy working outdoors, being active, and doing physical work
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, sometimes variable environment
• Reliable, alert, safety-conscious, with good problem-solving skills
• Able to work weekends (strongly preferred), and access to dependable transportation (private or public)
• Comfortable using a smartphone to manage payroll/inventory apps, and communicating via text, email, or phone
