Job summary

Total Wine & More is seeking a Merchandiser to support store operations in North Carolina. You will manage stock, build displays, process orders, and assist with curbside and delivery services as needed.

You will greet customers, share product knowledge, participate in wine and spirits training, and help maintain a safe, compliant store environment.

Qualifications

About the Role

All Store Team Members play an essential role in building our company brand by delivering excellent customer service. You will maximize product inventory and support online business operations, ensuring a positive shopping experience. While both part‑time and full‑time positions generally focus on merchandising responsibilities, you may also be assigned sales, front‑end or other responsibilities as needed. Internally, you will be referred to as Merchandiser and report to the store management team.

Responsibilities

• Maximize product inventory: process freight, organize and distribute inventory, pull and stock merchandise, build displays and end caps, place signage.
• Support digital business operations by fulfilling orders and assisting with in‑store, curbside pickup and delivery services, including driving and making deliveries if assigned.
• Deliver exceptional customer service: greet customers, engage to build relationships, inform about products and services.
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
• Complete cross‑functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
• Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner, following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws (if delivery is added as an essential job function).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 1–3 years of retail experience (1+ years preferred).
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements

• Walk, bend, and stand for 8–10 hours a day.
• Safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets.
• Climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.
• May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday.

Compensation

Worker type: Regular. Pay range: $16.43 – $23.00 hourly, depending on experience and location. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
