Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington- in Bowie, MD is seeking an Inventory/Merchandise Processing Associate to sort, process, and prepare donated merchandise for display and sale in our retail store. You will help keep items organized for the floor and support a fast-paced team.

You will thrive in a retail setting, uphold safety practices, and assist donors and customers with service excellence. The position offers growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for prolonged periods (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Lift up to 25 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Transfers merchandise from containers to determine eligibility for the sales floor.
• Stays aware of brand names, labels, and current styles.
• Prepares items for the sales floor; evaluates quality, pricing, value and salability.
• Counts items processed and records on the official log.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories by quota.
• Places items on hangers and transports them to the sales floor, keeping groups together.
