Job summary

J.Crew Group (JCG) is seeking a Planner to develop and execute the financial strategy for a department, collaborating with Merchants and Allocators to optimize sales, margin, and inventory performance. You’ll forecast results, synthesize data into actionable insights, and guide cross-functional partners toward short- and long-term goals.

This role follows an in-office model at the New York office, requiring presence Tuesday through Thursday each week, with emphasis on data-driven decision making

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years of experience in merchandise planning, allocation, or financial analysis.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and Excel skills.
• Proven ability to translate data into insights and influence cross-functional partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Preseason: develop preseason financial strategy connected to company goals; build department-level plans; present recommendations at reviews.
• In Season: provide weekly sales/margin/inventory updates; make data-driven product flow decisions; lead forecasts and monthly meetings.
• Analyze sell-through and inventory-to-sales ratios; propose pricing and promos to maximize profitability.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Allocation and Assortment Planning to optimize margins and flow.
