Job summary

J.Crew Group is seeking a Director, Merchandise Planning to set the long-range planning strategy across women’s categories, defining sales, margin, and inventory productivity. You will partner with Merchandising, Allocation, and the executive team to shape assortments and pricing.

This senior role leads a team, owns the talent strategy, and drives enterprise-wide adoption of planning tools and processes while balancing strategic oversight with hands-on attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 12–15+ years in merchandise planning/financial analysis at senior leadership level.
• Proven track record leading planning strategy enterprise-wide or across brand portfolios.
• Advanced analytical and financial modeling with expert Excel.
• Executive-level communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Experience building and retaining a leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Set divisional direction for sales, margin, and inventory across divisions.
• Define forecasting standards, hindsight, and OTB governance across brands.
• Drive cross-functional executive alignment on receipts, pricing, and promotions.
• Partner with Finance on reforecasting and long-range planning.
• Lead enterprise hindsight and investment review forums for strategic direction.
