Job description

We are a people-powered beauty ecosystem, leveraging unique and engaging online and offline experiences as well as consumer participation to fuel our growth. In 10 years, we have built an iconic brand that has revolutionized how consumers, and how the industry, think of beauty. The foundational DNA of our brand is resonant across generations, timeless, and ripe for building upon. Our next step is to bring Glossier to more people in more places. We are inclusive, customer-devoted, curious, courageous, discerning, and results-driven.

Are you passionate about the intersection of data, beauty, and strategy? Join our dynamic Merchandise Planning team, where you’ll play a critical role in helping Glossier deliver the right product to the right place, at the right time. The Merchandise Planner will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through inventory discipline across our channels in a thoughtful and strategic manner. From partnering with cross-functional teams to managing risk, to surfacing insights that shape our weekly business reviews, your work will be foundational in ensuring our merchandising engine runs with clarity and precision. Our team is fast-paced, collaborative, and loves finding smart solutions - we can’t wait for you to bring your own perspective to our planning conversations.

  • Learn the ins and outs of our planning systems and reporting tools (NetSuite, Looker, Excel-based trackers) and gain fluency in our product data and reporting structure
  • Manage the weekly Risk Report informing the e-Commerce team of upcoming inventory shortages in the warehouse
  • Create weekly and monthly business review slides, providing sharp, actionable commentary on performance trends
  • Participate in weekly and monthly planning meetings with confidence, contributing insights and raising potential risk or transfer opportunities
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning to flag risks and align on SKU level decisions across sales channels
  • Support Sephora US weekly buys, evaluating SKU-level risk and contributing to channel specific merchandising decisions
  • Start to finish ownership of 1-2 product categories, with room to grow based on performance
  • Lead long-range planning initiatives, including Open-to-Buy (OTB) recommendations for both new and evergreen products
  • Drive strategic planning for packaging transitions and discontinuations, minimizing liability and optimizing sell-through
  • Build trust within the organization and deepen your strategic influence across teams, contributing to process improvements and long-term planning innovation
  • Full ownership of 2-3 product categories, including forecasts, replenishment, inventory/risk management, and sample planning
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite, Looker, or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Detail oriented with a high level of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Collaborative and communicative with cross-functional teams including Finance, E-Commerce, Retail, Supply Chain, and Marketing
  • Comfortable synthesizing data into insights and translating them into action-oriented recommendations
  • A passion for beauty and an interest in how product, consumer behavior, and operations intersect
