Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Manager at the Avon, CT store to drive merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards.

You’ll ensure accurate pricing and timely promotions while maintaining a customer-ready store environment. Responsibilities include leading SOP adherence, MOD coverage, and inventory control, with a focus on in-stock optimization and effective staffing alignment to business needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in SOPs and adherence to company programs and laws.
• Ensure policy execution and store condition standards are met.
• Provide MOD coverage and maintain floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution, unloading, sorting, and merchandise flow to sales floor.
• Plan workload and daily tasks with store leadership.
• Execute Store-In-Stock Optimization routines for in-stock levels.
• Oversee Planogram execution and visual merchandising standards.
• Maintain backroom organization and customer-ready store environment.
• Manage inventory control, accuracy, and stock movement.
• Execute ad sets with compliant signage and product placement.
• Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment, RTVs and ASN processing.
• Support shrink reduction and asset protection practices.
• Train, coach, and develop team members across departments.
