Job summary

SE&M Constructors, LLC is seeking a field layout technician proficient in Trimble robotic total stations and BIM/CAD coordinate transfer for precise construction layout on active jobsites in Raleigh, NC.

The role requires 2 years of hands-on Trimble experience, OSHA certification (or willingness to obtain), and ability to coordinate with project teams to ensure layout accuracy and safety on multi-trade facilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years' experience operating Trimble robotic total stations and Trimble layout tools on construction sites.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Operate Trimble robotic total station and field layout tools to establish control points and verify as-built conditions.
• Perform point layout for MEP hangers, supports, sleeves, penetrations, embeds, anchors, and equipment pads.
• Coordinate with project managers, foremen, BIM/VDC coordinators, and trade partners to ensure layout accuracy and resolve conflicts.
• Maintain, calibrate, and care for Trimble instruments and related equipment.
• Document completed layout work, prepare field reports, and communicate deviations or RFIs as needed.
• Train and mentor field personnel on layout tool operation and best practices.
• Follow all site safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
