Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Chicago seeks an experienced Mechanical-Electrical Superintendent to lead, direct and coordinate the work of subcontractors on HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and related systems. You will ensure safety, schedule delivery and budget adherence while supervising assistants, engineers and trades.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus at least six years of MEP construction experience, strong communication, BIM coordination, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience and a minimum of six years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Thorough knowledge of building information modeling and its use in coordination of the Mechanical and Electrical systems and other project systems.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate work of subcontractors on MEPS systems to meet schedule and budget.
• Manage and resolve local area issues related to procedures, design clarifications, labor and equipment, and sequencing.
• Maintain site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers and interns.
• Coordinate with engineers on BIM coordination and master drawings.
• Oversee inspections, startup, turnover and punchlist for system acceptance.
