Job summary

LVI Associates seeks an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale data center projects across the Midwest, including Ohio and Michigan. You will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection activities from installation through commissioning, coordinating with subcontractors, owners, and commissioning partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as MEP Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, or Senior Superintendent.
• Experience delivering mission-critical/hyperscale data centers.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex MEP scopes.
• Familiarity with commissioning, startup, turnover processes; ability to read drawings/BIM.
• Leadership and communication skills; willing to travel across Midwest.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily MEP field operations on large-scale data center projects.
• Coordinate MEP disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and commissioning.
• Manage subcontractor performance, manpower planning, productivity, and site logistics.
• Facilitate pull-planning, look-ahead scheduling, and coordination meetings.
• Monitor schedules and identify potential delays or conflicts.
• Ensure installations meet design intent, client requirements, and quality standards.
• Oversee QA/QC, testing, deficiencies, and punch lists.
• Coordinate with commissioning teams through startup, testing, turnover.
• Support BIM/VDC coordination and constructability issue resolution.
• Drive safety initiatives and OSHA compliance; manage energization procedures.
• Provide progress updates and risk assessments to project management.
• Build relationships with clients, trade partners, and stakeholders.

Salary: Up to $175,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits + Travel Package

About the Role

MEP Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to support the delivery of large-scale hyperscale and mission critical data center projects across the Midwest. This individual will play a key role in overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing construction activities from installation through commissioning and turnover.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, owners, consultants, and commissioning partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a field-based position supporting multiple data center projects throughout Ohio and Michigan, with travel expected throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily MEP field operations on large-scale data center construction projects.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and commissioning activities.
• Manage subcontractor performance, manpower planning, productivity, and site logistics.
• Facilitate daily coordination meetings, pull-planning sessions, and look-ahead scheduling.
• Monitor project schedules and proactively identify potential delays or conflicts.
• Ensure all installations meet design intent, client requirements, and quality standards.
• Oversee QA/QC inspections, testing procedures, deficiency tracking, and punch list management.
• Coordinate closely with commissioning teams through startup, testing, and turnover activities.
• Support BIM/VDC coordination and resolution of constructability issues.
• Drive site safety initiatives and maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Manage energization procedures, LOTO compliance, MOP reviews, and critical systems turnover where required.
• Partner with project management teams to provide accurate progress updates and risk assessments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an MEP Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, or Senior Superintendent.
• Previous experience delivering mission critical or hyperscale data center projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex MEP scopes.
• Working knowledge of commissioning, startup, and turnover processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and BIM models.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Ohio and Michigan.

Preferred Experience

• Experience on hyperscale campuses exceeding 50MW.
• Background working for leading General Contractors, Mission Critical Builders, or Data Center Developers.
• Experience with commissioning agents and critical facility turnover procedures.
• Familiarity with BIM360, ACC, Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
• Experience working in fast-track construction environments.
