Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a Senior Construction Superintendent in New Jersey to lead field operations on complex projects. You will plan schedules, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, and monitor progress with the Project Manager and client representatives.

The successful candidate has 5+ years of field experience with supervisory responsibilities and strong communication and organizational skills. Salary ranges from $165,000 to $205,000 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field construction experience.
• Supervisory experience as a General Foreman, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the project schedule and maintains accurate status reports.
• Oversees field coordination, quality control, and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted crews.
• Reviews progress with the Project Manager and client representatives.
• Enforces safety standards for craftsmen and equipment.
• Directs subcontractor activities on ground-up construction projects.
• Analyzes manpower, material, and equipment needs and coordinates with supervision.
• Implements and enforces field policies, procedures and work rules.
• Prepares forecasts and keeps supervisors informed on progress.
• Ensures safety and safe operation of tools and equipment in the work area.
• Coordinates Lock-out Tag-out with responsible subcontractors for utilities.
• Manages QA/QC and interprets client engineering specifications.

Job description

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Prepares the project schedule, maintains reports accurately describing project status
• Responsible for the timely and cost-effectivefield coordination, quality control andday-to-daysupervision of subcontracted work forces for construction projects
• Reviews status and project progress with the Project Manager and client representatives on a regular basis. Large projects include multiple Superintendents.
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment.
• Directs sub-contractor activities within ground up construction projects
• Analyzes manpower, material, equipment requirements, and interfaces the requirements with others as designated by supervising superintendent.
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction Management
• Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when in the operational area, tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
• Coordination of Lock-out Tag-out with responsible subcontractors of utilities such as Nitrogen, Vacuum, Compressed Air, RODI, and Steam
• Manage QA/QC and understanding of client engineering specifications or requirements.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of field experience.
• Experience should include some supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman, Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
• Well-developed, communications, interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills are required.

Salary: $165,000 - $205,000
