Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an MEP Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of mechanical and electrical projects from pre to final account. You will work with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure projects stay within budget and contractual requirements.

The role suits a QS with 3–15 years in MEP/building services, capable of handling valuations, variations, and final accounts. Hybrid working options and a company vehicle/allowance are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP/building services.
• Experience managing commercial or industrial projects.
• Projects valued between £500k and £5m.
• Strong understanding of MEP construction and building services.
• Experience with valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Strong subcontractor and supplier management experience.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Desirable: BSc/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of MEP projects valued between £500k and £5m.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and payment assessments.
• Manage variations, change control and compensation events.
• Monitor project costs, expenditure and financial performance.
• Produce monthly cost/value reports and forecasts.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, including payments and final accounts.
• Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review contracts and ensure commercial obligations are understood and managed.
• Support procurement and tendering activities.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
