Job summary

Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an MEP Entry-Level Engineer to assist in managing all aspects of construction projects at various California locations. You will report to a project manager or superintendent and help coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors while supporting field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or construction management.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and basic business principles to monitor expenses.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
• Ability to read and understand technical specs, blueprints, manuals, and drawings.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with construction projects, mechanical/electrical systems, building materials, or craft workers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors and direct trades on site.
• Assist in estimating, bidding processes, and tracking costs to manage budgets.
• Resolve design issues and field issues, manage change orders.
• Document contracts, purchase orders, costs, change orders and specs.
• Attend meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and contract specs and aligns with project schedules.
• Provide field support to ensure safety, QA/QC, and site maintenance.
• Track project phase completion against milestones.
