The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Manager in Herndon, VA. This role oversees MEP activities across multiple commercial projects, coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have 3–20+ years in MEP management, strong leadership and communication skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.

Qualifications

• 3–20+ years of MEP management experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Certification in MEP engineering or project management (e.g., PE, PMP, LEED, CCP) is a plus.
• Experience in MEP disciplines: mechanical, electrical, controls, plumbing, fire protection, commissioning.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.
• Knowledge of MEP codes and installation standards.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient systems and sustainable building practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledgeable in MEP estimating and leading an MEP team.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate MEP works from design to installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems.
• Ensure on-time completion of MEP tasks within project deadlines.
• Lead and manage engineers and subcontractors.
• Delegate tasks and balance workload to meet deadlines.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
• Review MEP designs for codes and client requirements.
• Select materials and systems considering cost and energy efficiency.
• Approve MEP shop drawings and coordinate changes.
• Manage the MEP project budget and control costs.
• Monitor costs related to labor, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and permits.
• Perform site inspections and quality checks.
• Provide regular progress reports to management.
• Maintain documentation of contracts, change orders, and milestones.
• Communicate with clients to understand needs and updates.
